GENERAL DENTISTRY

We are committed to providing the best dental care we possibly can to dental patients in the Chicago area. From preventive care to restorative dentistry, Dental Medicine Chicago’s dentists have the experience and training to help our patients achieve successful outcomes.

Preventive Dentistry

Exams and Cleanings

Making a regular dental appointment and having a teeth cleaning can have a major impact on preventing tooth decay, gingivitis, periodontal disease, and many other conditions. Poor oral healthcare has been linked to a number of systemic diseases, including heart disease and diabetes. At DMC, we know the importance of a regular dental checkup and dental cleaning when it comes to maintaining overall health.

Health & Diet

The food we eat and medications we take play a major role in both oral health and overall physical wellbeing. We provide diet counseling and medical consultation key to preventing issues such as dry mouth and cavities.

Oral Cancer Screening

Oral cancer is a serious medical issue and can be found in people who aren’t tobacco users. That’s why it is important to make an appointment for a regular dental exam. At DMC, all patients are regularly screened for oral cancer with a thorough head, neck, and oral exam.

Digital X-Rays

While a number of dental issues can be diagnosed by looking inside a patient’s mouth, it’s important to look even deeper. Digital radiographs allow for visualization of cavities, root canal-related problems, and periodontal disease. These images can be presented to patients on a computer monitor, allowing them to better understand the status of their oral health. At DMC, we use the latest technology in digital radiography, including the use of CBCT (Cone-beam computed tomography) machine. This has a number of uses, such as airway sleep apnea analysis, root canal assessment, and oral surgery planning.

Restorative Dentistry

Cosmetic Dentistry

While DMC dentists are focused on treating oral disease, patient cosmetic appearances is always a concern. Whether patients need to whiten their yellow teeth or receive tooth fillings. We provide beautiful long-lasting smiles with the use of ceramic crowns, porcelain veneers, and advanced dental bonding procedures.

Root Canals

A toothache can sometimes indicate a much deeper problem. When extensive tooth decay or inflammation affects the inside—or pulp—of the tooth, a root canal procedure may be necessary. In a minimally invasive, pain-free procedure, the pulp is carefully removed and inside of the tooth is disinfected. The tooth is then filled and a post and crown may be used to restore it. At DMC, our dentists work to help patients to keep and maintain proper use and function of their teeth.

Tooth Whitening

If you have stained teeth, it may be time for a teeth whitening procedure to restore your smile. Through the use of custom bleaching trays and laser whitening, a DMC dentist can provide an easy and effective tooth whitening option which can be done in office or daily right in your own home.

Crowns

Dental crowns and tooth bridges are great options for restoring decayed or root canal-treated teeth, as well as improving cosmetics and function. We use an on-site certified lab technician, offering a range of ceramic materials to cater to a patient’s individualized needs in the Chicago area. Additionally, we can use an inlay or onlay to help restore a patient’s proper tooth function.

Clean Air

When removing silver mercury amalgam fillings, or performing other dental procedures, potentially harmful dust and vapors are created. Through the use of vacuums and Surgically Clean Air cleaners, DMC adheres to strict, environmentally friendly, safe amalgam removal and disposal protocols, as well as air quality maintenance. DMC is an amalgam-free and mercury-safe office that puts patient and staff safety first.

Laser Dentistry

Lasers are the future of dental care, allowing work to be done faster and more effectively. Laser dentistry is a simple and clean way to perform a number of dental procedures including biopsy, periodontal treatment, oral surgery and even tooth whitening. We at DMC we offer Biolase Waterlase technology, as a pain-free, minimally invasive alternative for patients who need everything from gum surgery to root canals.

Dentures

No one should settle for unattractive, uncomfortable, or loose dentures. At DMC, we make our dentures in office with an on-site certified dental technician that is committed to perfecting the fit, function, and aesthetics of your dentures. We can provide same day dentures, and we also offer options for implant dentures, denture relines, and denture repair.

Pediatric Dentistry

Preventive Care

Having a regular dental exam is important for children’s oral and overall health. At DMC, we have decades of experience with pediatric patients and offer care to all ages, including patients with special needs. Through regular teeth cleaning, oral hygiene instruction, fluoride treatments, dental sealants, and other procedures, we ensure that our pediatric patients are receiving the best care possible and are given the tools to implement a routine for sustainable oral and systemic health.

Growth & Development

Similar to a pediatrician who records and evaluates proper skeletal growth, the dentist records and evaluates proper growth of the teeth, jaws, and face. Through regular dental appointments and consistent evaluation, DMC aims to treat pediatric patients to ensure proper craniofacial growth and development.

Special Needs Patients

All patients are important to us at DMC, especially patients with special needs. With years of experience in treating these patients, we at DMC utilize individualized treatment planning, medication counseling and one patient at a time treatment to optimize care for all of our patients.

Oral Surgery

Periodontal Surgery

The periodontium (the gums and bones surrounding your teeth) are important for both support and protection. However, the periodontium can be affected by recession, tooth decay, gingivitis, and periodontal disease. When this happens, periodontal surgery may be necessary, which may include a bone or gum graft, crown lengthening, or a deep cleaning that involves scaling and root planing. When approaching these procedures, we utilize minimally invasive techniques with laser assisted surgery.

Implants

Dental implants are a great tooth replacement option. Whether you are replacing one lost tooth or 28, dental implants can have tremendous benefits. Dental implant surgery involves fixing titanium posts into bone that support a crown. Utilizing this approach patients are given a great long-term prognosis. With over 30 years of experience, DMC’s implant dentists use the latest in implant technology, which includes using both titanium and zirconia implant options.

Biopsy

Oral cancer is something that affects more than just people who smoke or chew tobacco. At DMC, we take oral cancer very seriously. We assess risk factors and perform regular mouth cancer screenings. Any suspicious lesions are taken for biopsy and sent to oral pathologists at Tufts University for a fast and accurate diagnosis.

Emergency

Whether it is a toothache, impacted wisdom teeth, or a tooth infection. At DMC, we are here for whatever dental emergency you may have, as we address all dental questions and emergencies 24/7 with consultation via phone or in the office.
